Meet Ghosne Aoun
Sydney born tailor, Ghosne Aoun came to Byron Bay in 2016, as part of a team of Leather specialists working on an upcoming Hollywood film. A veteran in the industry, Ghosne has been working on Opera, Theatre, Film & Television costuming for over 20 years.
Ghosne’s love for fabric architecture lead her to a bridal traineeship directly out of high school and into the formal study of fashion and theatrical design at East Sydney.
As part of her studies, Ghosne undertook her work experience at Opera Australia as a men’s tailor. This would be the start of her ongoing love affair with bespoke tailoring and leatherwork.
From Opera Australia to an international career in television and movie costuming, Ghosne has travelled the world for her art. A dab hand at bespoke tailoring and leatherwork.
As with many people, once Ghosne came to Byron Bay she found she never wanted to leave. This lead to the opening of Byron Alterations, a business that is fast becoming known for it’s jack of all trades approach.
Ghosne has created in Byron Alterations, a service that covers almost anything in the realm of fabric and leather. There is almost nothing that can’t be handled by Ghosne’s skilled hands.
“Byron Alterations has given me the opportunity to combine my passion for creating with a lifestyle I love”
